The bird lay splayed on the sand, writhing, with its wings twisted in all sorts of impossible, hideous directions. There was no blood except for the stream that trickled out of its beak, the only thing that seemed to be intact.
It was so immaculately broken, he thought. As if somehow, someone had wrenched it from the sky, and dilligently broken every bone in its fragile little body.
Carefully, he scooped it up into his hands, and cradled the dying thing to his chest. Its heart fluttered and stumbled, as if it was broken too.
And then it stopped.
He told his brother of the bird that night while they ate dinner, who looked at Daizen with unsympathetic eyes.
"These things are often tragic, and rarely avoidable."

and end rather pointless story.
haha, I swear Daizen gets younger each time I draw him. Playing with colouring, and various other things
once again, I find I have scarce little to say. enjoyy
The sharp, almost painful blue of the sky, and how it outlines Daizen's body like an aura. I really like the jet black silhouette of the background too, makes everything stand out, and creates a boarder between the back and the foreground.
I love the swirls throughout the jacket, and the way you've shaded the tan-brown, with an almost orange tinge with unusual colours of blue-ish greys. It just... it just gives the picture a certain something, that's hard to put my finger on.
thats really good i just love how everything look in this drawing and the coloring goes so will with it it just so sad it just makes you want to go up to that person you want to hug them
I don't know how to explain quite properly but I love the whole concept of these kind of background things. how it looks like the person is by as picture yet it is suppose to represent the setting they are in. the coloring is so sweet and simple it is so lush and fits so well in this.<3 wonderful job.
-- you think this is a threat? have a taste of my whip-- what is this, nerds rope...?? .___. Eheheh, anyone want some? Yum... Lol. Hey, you know, some ice cream soup would be good with this. <3 What? Nuu, my ice cream soup is ruined!!
Everything just adds to the feel of this picture. The lonely background, the single tear, the short story and how Daizen seems to be holding that bird so gently.
Also, the colours are amaaaazzing. I love how you've used blues in the shading. Makes him really seem part of the picture since the sky is a pretty vibrant blue colour, too.
Andand I love how you did the swirls on Daizen's top and jacket. They don't just look painted on, they blend really well!
Dammit this picture is just amazing. <3 I lavv it.
i had this nasty little head-ache, so it was real nice to see something of yours waiting in my inbox. read your journal and didn't think you'd be posting so soon!
that aside, i love how the figure really comes into the foreground and is separate from the background. such a sad lil' story though.
oh, and the hair and fur were colored fantistic-o.
awh, thanks so much. I was iffing a bit about the black border (and still was for quite a bit after I posted it), so it's good to know it looks okay (:
that, and the blue shading. that was something of an experiment for me
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
